J.C. Charyk Hawks Clinch Third ASAA High School Football Provincial Title

In an electrifying display of skill and determination, the J.C. Charyk Hawks soared to victory, securing the coveted ASAA High School Football Provincial Title in a nail-biting clash against the Harry Collinge (Hinton) Wolfpack. The Hawks' triumph on November 24, 2023, in Red Deer at Great Chief Park held hearts in suspense until the final whistle, culminating in a staggering 76-47 victory.

The showdown between the Hawks and the Wolfpack proved to be an edge-of-the-seat affair, marked by an intense back-and-forth battle on the field. At halftime, the Hawks found themselves trailing narrowly at 41-40. However, a relentless display of skill, teamwork, and unwavering determination propelled them to turn the tide in the second half, securing an impressive win.

The Hawks' success didn't come overnight. Their journey to clinching the Provincial Title was marked by sheer dedication and hard work throughout the season. As a young team with only five graduating grade 12 players, they showcased exceptional growth, progressively strengthening their prowess with every game.

The team expressed immense gratitude for the overwhelming support showered upon them by the community of Hanna, Youngstown, Cessford and Delia. The Provincial final was no exception, as a multitude of parents, family members, students and friends turned out in force, creating a vibrant and fervent cheering section that undoubtedly fueled the team's spirits and contributed to their victory.
