Oyen kids have fun at VBS!

By Joan Janzen

Oyen Evangelical Missionary Church (OEMC) hosted a Vacation Bible School for sixteen- twenty children during the first week of August. The director of the VBS, Lealla, explained the program this year is called “Kingdom Rock.”

“We explored how King David, Queen Esther, Nehemiah and King Josiah all stood strong,” she said. A total of ten volunteers ran the program, with one or two heading up each section. Andrea Shields was the Bible story teacher.

“We start with an opening session that has songs and skits, and then split into smaller groups to rotate through Bible story, craft, games and snack sections,” she explained.

A great time was had by all the kids at the Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School! The children learned that God’s love, family and friends, prayer and trusting God and His Word all help them stand strong!
