Oyen Lodge News: First two weeks of April have been busy for residents

By Dianne Spath

Hello everyone. Hope all enjoyed Easter weekend. Monday was April Fool's Day, but we didn't seem to have many pranksters. We started Monday with exercises, scrabble games, and an Easter bingo game, with lots of chocolate bunnies and goodies for prizes. Tuesday was our regular bus run downtown, and after that, we did some crafts. In the afternoon, the residents really enjoyed the Breaking Ground Dancers. You could see and feel the passion in their dancing as they performed. Their dynamics as they moved across the floor was beautiful and inspiring as they showed their personality and emotions. The senior dance class performed a few dances and solos, as did the little ones. They were all amazing, and the smiles of the residents tell it all. Wednesday, we had exercises and shuffleboard, and in the afternoon, we went to the Auxiliary, had coffee, and had a visit. Thursday started with exercises, such as the left, right, and center dice game; then, in the afternoon, the Big Country Adult Learning came and did Digital Games with the residents. Three groups with interesting team names participated in the trivia contest, which was all about spring. It was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. Thursday evening, Rob Shields entertained us with his music. It was nice to have him back to sing and entertain. We ended the week with horse races and bingo, which seemed to be our favourite activity of the week. Friday evening, the Jorgenson's played music, which is always a favourite every week.

April 8-12

Hello everyone, It's the second week of April, and the weather has improved a bit, but at least the temperature is enjoyable. On Monday, we had exercises, scrabble games, card bingo, and music by Taylor Neilson. On Tuesday, we had our regular bus runs downtown, and The Shoe Fits Company from Lethbridge was here to supply us with some comfy shoes. Wednesday, there was Church with Bill Kolkman, exercises and shuffleboard games. Beltone Hearing was also here in the afternoon. Thursday was our regular exercise, ATB Financial Banking and then some crib in the afternoon. Friday, we ended our week with horseraces, bingo and music by the Jorgenson's. On April 23, we will be having Personal Touch Clothing and Avon in from 10:00-2:00. We will also set up a mini bake sale. Have a great week, everyone.
