Dylan A. J. Goodine

GOODINE - Dylan A. J. Goodine passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on January 25, 2024 at the age of 35 after a short battle with Leukemia.

He was born in Oyen, AB on August 18, 1988 to Kevin & Cindy Goodine. His sister Darmidy was so excited to have a little brother, a sentiment that never faded. He lived in Oyen until his graduation from South Central High School when he moved to Calgary to attend the Culinary Arts program at SAIT. After a brief culinary career, Dylan attended NAIT at the Fairview campus where he earned his Journeyman Red Seal as a Small Engine Mechanic. He worked at various motorsports shops in the Calgary area before joining Wajax in 2023, where he was working towards a Heavy Duty Mechanic accreditation.

He met his wife Casey in Calgary, and in 2014 they bought their home in Langdon, AB. They were married in Strathmore on August 18, 2018, and loved their home and life in a small town. Dylan was a life-long dog lover, and he and Casey adopted their dog Maisy shortly after buying their home. Casey brought her cat George to live with them, and Dylan quickly became a cat lover as well.

Dylan was an avid reader, could fix anything, and could often be found in his garage working on something. He loved history documentaries, sports, music, and anything that involved trivia. Casey and Dylan's dad Kevin shared his love of live music. They attended numerous concerts all over North America together, and just as many baseball games as a family. He also loved fishing with his grandpa John, Casey’s uncle Kevin, and his childhood friends.

He is survived and dearly missed by his wife Casey Collinge, parents Cindy & Kevin Goodine, sister Darmidy Goodine and her partner Tristan Ryan, grandpa and grandma John & Marion van Otterloo, uncle and aunt Clare & Michele Goodine, aunt Karyn Heggestad, cousins Kallie & Kayci Caskey, in-laws Jenny Collinge, Chris & Tammy Collinge, Matt Collinge & Kris Cochrane, nieces Shayla & Skylar Collinge, and so many friends and extended family members.

He will be lovingly greeted on the other side by his grandmother Anne Goodine and uncle Tom van Otterloo.

We are forever grateful for the efforts, kindness, compassion, and humanity of the staff in the ER at the South Health Campus in Calgary and in the ICU at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
